Emerging artist Ensemble
Theatre 20's Emerging Artist Ensemble is comprised of talented, passionate and committed up-and-coming musical theatre performers.
Each year, we audition and select up to 20 senior students and recent graduates of Canadian musical theatre programs who demonstrate promise with both the talent and drive to succeed. The Ensemble is made up of those artists we believe have the potential to become established and leading members of the Canadian music theatre community. Our goal with this program is to create a dynamic group that represents all musical theatre performers in Ontario, encompassing all genders and ethnicities.
Theatre 20 helps these young artists to continue to develop their craft and advises them how to best nurture their careers while providing performance opportunities and mentorship. The Emerging Artist Ensemble performs on stage at Theatre 20 events alongside our Founding Artists, as well as with other established Associate Artists from the professional theatre community.
Our Founding Artists and Associate Artists are mentors in Ensemble rehearsals and at performances, giving our Emerging Artists professional exposure and experience not usually found in a classroom.
In addition, the Theatre 20 Emerging Artist Ensemble works closely with our Composium program, creating the opportunity for our emerging composers and book writers to develop their work by hearing it sung by brilliant young performers. This also gives our Emerging Artists a chance to connect with and experience working with the next generation of successful musical theatre writers.

Kristin Dalziel
_
A life-long musician and dancer, Kristin didn't discover her
passion for musical theatre until late in her teens. After toying with the idea
of being an "actress" since a very young age, a community theatre
production of Aida finally gave her the courage to pursue such a temptation.
Kristin was accepted to the Randolph Academy of the Performing Arts in the fall
of '09 and graduated in the summer of '11. She is absolutely thrilled and
honoured to continue her journey to the stage amongst the company of her fellow
Emerging Artist Ensemble members. "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny
matters compared to what lies within us" - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Laura Jean Elligsen
_ Growing up in a family of hockey fanatics,
Laura knew right away she wasn't cut out for sports and decided to explore her
artistic side. She studied voice and piano in Stratford with Barbara Collier
and Sandra Mogensen, competing and winning awards at the Stratford Kiwanis
Festival, the Woodstock Rotary Festival, the Ontario
Music Festivals Association, and the National Association of Teachers of
Singing. Laura most recently performed as Enid in Timothy Findley's Can You
See Me Yet?, Jo in Little Women the Musical at the Randolph Academy
for the Performing Arts, Lise in Copo de Oro and Theatre 20's workshop of
the English musical of Michel Tremblay's Les Belles-Soeurs, Mary Lane in
Reefer Madness and Anna in Spring Awakening at LOT. Laura wants
to thank her family for not only encouraging her to follow her passion, but
raising her to be the most balanced and down-to-earth person she could be. Even
though Laura's heart belongs to the arts, she does like to get out to see the
occasional hockey game!
Kate Etienne
_Kate is a graduate of Sheridan College's Musical Theatre
Performance Program. Since graduating she has fulfilled her childhood
dream of being a Princess working for Disney; been lucky enough to be
involved in several workshops throughout Toronto; and has taken a few
trips out to The Rock (Newfoundland) to participate in the Stephenville
Festival where, cosmically enough, her parents met 25 years
prior. Some of her favourite performance experiences have been Audrey in
Little Shop of Horrors (STF), Pennywise in Urinetown and Rose in Gypsy (Theatre Sheridan). Kate is ecstatic to have been chosen as one of Theatre 20's Emerging Artists. Thank you to all who have provided me with this opportunity. I
look forward to what the future holds. Here's to not being "emerging"
for long. Cheers!
MIKAELA MacGillivray

Mikaela is thrilled to be part of Theatre 20’s Emerging Artist Ensemble. A recent
graduate from The Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts, she is currently working
on Hart House’s production of Cabaret as a Kit Kat Dancer. Other recent work:
Woman #1 in Side By Side By Sondheim, The Rocky Horror Show and Our
Town (Mrs. Soames/Professor Willard). Prior to Randolph, she appeared in a self-produced production of Tick, Tick… BOOM! Other shows

Glen Mills

His most memorable theatre credits include: Paul in Carnival, Harry Beaton in Brigadoon, Sir Jasper Fidget in The Country Wife. Glen spends what little time off he has at the lake with his family and is continually in pursuit of living his dream, to simply survive as an artist! And to continue to learn, grow, and share.

A film and stage actor, singer, dancer, and producer, Cassie graduated from the Randolph Academy of the Performing Arts (2010) with a certificate in Triple Threat Studies and Performance.
